Bearing grind test rig

This project was undertaken in defined stages of development where the client wanted an automated method to record the results from an existing process involving bearing measurement.

Solution

Operator program was designed and written in National Instruments Labview to determine specifications of the bearing to be tested from the client’s database using a barcode scanner.
Information for that part was then displayed for the operator to compare against their worksheet before proceeding.
The program then gave the operator instructions to take them through each stage of the bearing tests indicating when additional external operations were required through calculation and if each test on the specific bearing had passed or failed.
All measurements taken and results are saved whilst the program creates dynamic graphs showing trends.
Following software trials Workstations were then designed and built to accomodate clients existing process equipment with Touchscreen PC's and integrated electrical control panel to rear of workstation.
From these workstations summary data was then passed via clients network to a central 55" PC/monitor displaying live production management data.
